The Canadian Bobath Instructors Association (CBIA) develops, organizes and instructs high quality, standardized Canadian Bobath Courses. All courses are related to the treatment of individuals with neurological conditions and include theoretical foundations for practice; practical sessions to develop handling and clinical reasoning skills; demonstrations/workshops with patients; and some courses involve supervised/mentored treatment sessions with patients.
All CBIA instructors are physiotherapists or occupational therapists who have additionally trained under the auspices of the International Bobath Instructors Association (IBITA). All instructors adhere to the rules and regulations of IBITA, to the national standards established by CBIA, and to their Canadian professional standards and college rules and regulations.
CBIA is committed to the development and training of future Canadian IBITA instructors.
CBIA is the instructor and course organization component of the Bobath Interest Group (BIG), a Canadian practice based subgroup of the Neurosciences Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
