Julie graduated from St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, England in 1986 and has worked in the area of neuro-rehabilitation since 1988. She has a special interest in the rehabilitation of the incomplete spinal cord injured individual. Julie emigrated to Toronto in 1991, initially taking a position at Lyndhurst, Spinal Cord Injury Centre, and then later opening her own private community neuro-rehabilitation practice, Physio-Logic, in Toronto in 1993.
Julie qualified as an IBITA Basic Course Instructor in 2000, and as an Advanced IBITA Instructor in 2008.
Julie undertook her doctoral studies at the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute, University of Toronto which she completed in August 2016, and now holds a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto under the supervision of Professor Dina Brooks.
In addition, Julie maintains a clinical caseload at Physio-Logic in Toronto, and provides one on one clinical mentorship on a consult basis to physiotherapists and occupational therapists. She instructs post-graduate clinical Bobath courses across Canada and internationally.
