Libby Swain graduated with a BAppSc(PT) in Melbourne, Australia 1985, attained her MA in motor learning from Columbia University NY in 1988; qualified as an IBITA Bobath Instructor in 2002 and as an Advanced IBITA Bobath Instructor in 2015. She is a co-founder of the Canadian Bobath Instructors Association (CBIA,) a component of the Neurosciences Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Libby has also been actively involved in the Neurosciences Division Executive for over 2 decades and is past Chairperson of the International Bobath Instructors Association (IBITA).
Libby co-owns and operates a private neurological physiotherapy practice in Vancouver (Neuro-Ability Rehabilitation Services); is a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia; and had over 13 years experience as the Neurosciences Clinical Practice Leader at Vancouver General Hospital.
She has instructed undergraduate physiotherapy courses at UBC, continuing education courses on contemporary neurological rehabiltiation, and co-instructed numerous courses pertaining to the Bobath Concept in Canada and internationally.
